Rhino to Alias Plug-in RC1

[*]CVs, Hulls and Edit Points are switched off for all imported geometry.
[*]Rhino Mesh translates to Alias Mesh. All quadrilateral rhino meshes are converted to Triangles.
[*]Rhino Direction light translates to Alias Directional Light
[*]Rhino Point light translates to Alias Point Light
[*]Rhino Spot light translates to Alias Spot light
[*]Rhino Rectangular Lights translates to Alias Area Light
[*]Rhino Linear Lights translates to Alias Linear Lights.

[*]Bug Fixes

[*]Fixed some trim surface problems

I have been working on a Rhino to Alias direct translator for some time. It is still in active development. Please download the plug-in and try out the functionality. Please do post your views on it. As of now the following Rhino data is retrieved to the corresponding Alias objects.

Requirements

[*]Alias 2012 x64 version
[*]VC++ 2010 runtime
[*]Windows 7 64bit
Installation
Please copy the unzipped plug-in file to user Documents/Autodesk/Alias/ or somewhere you can find it. Open Alias and open Utilities > plug-in manager.Open the new rhino_to_alias.plugin. The plug-in is installed under the "File" menu.
Operation
Click on "Import .3dm" menu. A file browser will open.Click on the .3dm file you want to import. Click Import. The file is retrieved on a new Stage. Please be patient if the file size is very large as it does not give any progress bar. Please check the Alias prompt for any errors during translation.
Limitations
This software is still in active development and will expire on 1 Oct 2012. Please check back for an updated version soon.
